Featured Ingredient: Strawberries

With this year’s Wimbledon in full swing, it seemed only fitting that our first ingredient of the week should be strawberries! A favourite amongst both children and adults, this sweet berry is not only delicious but is now considered a superfood. Rich in nutrients and antioxidants, the heart-shaped fruit offers a whole load of health benefits.
Packed with Vitamin C, strawberries are great for boosting little foodies’ immune systems and for increasing collagen production in adults. The fruit is also a good source of fibre, which plays an essential role in digestive, heart and brain health. Strawberry season in the UK runs from the early May to the beginning of September, so make the most of the British produce while you can with our strawberry ice ‘cream’!

Strawberry ice cream

With the UK finding itself half way through one of the hottest summers in history, ice cream is selling out everywhere! Unfortunately many of the brands sold in supermarkets are loaded with refined sugar and artificial chemicals, we think your little foodie deserves better! This vegan strawberry ice ‘cream’ is not only gluten, nut and refined sugar free, but a great way to use up old fruit you have previously frozen!

1 cup of frozen strawberries
½ cup of coconut yoghurt
1 tsp of honey
Serve with chia jam, granola and fresh fruit
Add all your ingredients to a food processor, pulsing until it reaches a smooth creamy texture
Serve with our tahini granola, chia jam and fresh fruit!
